Which size do I order?

While our sizes are generally similar to what you see in stores, individual brands can differ. To get the best fit with Anikka Becker designs check your measurements and refer to our size chart.

  • The diagram of the dress form shows you where to run the tape measure

    • Bust: the fullest part of the bust

    • Waist: the narrowest part of the torso. Not sure where this is? Look in a mirror and bend to the side. The level where the torso ‘breaks’ is the waist.

    • Hip: the fullest part of the lower body, often though not always 8-9” below the waist. For some women it’s much higher. For others it can be as low as the thigh.

  • Write down the measurements as you take them. Once you have all three, find your size on the chart. If your measurements are not in a single size category, don’t worry. See the FAQs below.

What if my measurements don’t fit into any one size?

  • For all of our dresses, the most important measurement for fit is the bust. To find your dress size, start with the bust measurement.

  • For our fitted skirts, the most important measurement is the hip. For full skirts it’s the waist. To find your skirt size, start with the most important measurement for the design, full or fitted.

My bust measurement says my dress size is 8. But my waist is a size 12. Can I still order a dress?

  • Certainly. Contact us at info@anikkabecker.com. Based on the design you like, we can help you determine your size. If needed we can adjust the pattern to create a custom size for you. A customized pattern has an additional cost.

I’m very tall/short. How do I know I’ll get the right length hem?

  • If you find that ready-to-wear dresses and skirts are too short or too long for you, contact us. We can help you determine if our standard cut will fit you. If needed we can adjust the pattern to create a custom length for you. A customized pattern has an additional cost.

Do you do custom pieces?

  • Yes! We do custom sizes and designs. We have a wide range of fabrics for all occasions. Contact us with details.

I want to purchase a gift but I don’t know the lady’s measurements. What do I do?

  • If determining the lady’s measurements is just not possible, may we suggest a gift card? They’re available in several denominations from $50 to $500 and can be purchased online in the Shop.
